Q: Are the sensors rechargeable or do they need to be replaced once the battery dies? What’s the lifespan?

A: Our BLE 5.0 sensors have non-rechargeable batteries lasting 2+ years (24-30 months typical). When batteries die, we send replacement sensors under warranty. No charging hassles, no power cables in your fridges.

Q: Do the sensors need to be drilled into the wall or cabinet? How do I install them?

A: No drilling required. Sensors have magnetic backs and stick to any metal fridge/freezer wall. For non-metal surfaces (plastic, glass), we include 3M adhesive mounts. Install in 30 seconds: stick sensor to interior wall, away from door and cooling coils, press activation button. Done.

Q: What’s the difference between your sensor types? Which one do I need for fridges vs cooking?

A: We have 3 types: V3 Temp & Humidity Sensor for standard fridge/freezer monitoring (magnetic mount, tracks temperature and humidity—use for coolrooms, display fridges, freezers, dry agers). V3 Probe Sensor for cooking and smoking (stainless steel probe on 1-meter cable—use for smokers, ovens, internal meat temp during cooking). Cable Temp Probe for specialty monitoring where sensor body can’t fit (2-meter cable with external probe—use for narrow spaces, through walls).

Q: How many sensors do I need for my butcher shop?

A: General rule: 1 sensor per fridge/freezer/coolroom. Typical setups: Small shop (1 coolroom, 2 display fridges, 1 freezer): 4 sensors. Medium shop (1 coolroom, 4 display fridges, 1 freezer, 1 dry ager): 7 sensors. Smallgoods maker (+ smokers, cook/cool rooms): Add 2-3 probe sensors. Delivery vehicle: Add 1 sensor (if delivering chilled/frozen products weekly).

Q: How big are the sensors? Will they fit in my display fridge or dry ager?

A: V3 Temp & Humidity sensor: 82mm × 82mm × 26mm (about the size of a small coaster). Probe sensors: Same body size with 1m stainless steel probe. They fit easily in any commercial fridge without blocking shelves.

Q: Do I need a sensor for my delivery vehicle? We only deliver once a week.

A: Recommended if you’re transporting chilled/frozen products to customers (liability risk). Even once-a-week deliveries matter—if your van fridge fails during summer and you deliver warm meat, that’s a food safety breach. Cost: 1 extra sensor. Benefit: SMS alert if van temp exceeds 5°C during delivery route.

App & Device Questions

Q: Does the app need internet? Can I use it offline?

A: Yes, internet is required. The app needs an active connection to access temperature data, complete checklists, and sync records in real-time. Sensors transmit via BLE gateway connected to your shop Wi-Fi. For delivery tablets: You’ll need mobile data (4G/5G) to access the system while on the road.

Q: Can I use a phone or do I need a tablet? What works best?

A: Both work if they have internet access. Phones are great for managers checking temps and alerts remotely. Tablets (8-10") work better for shop floor use: bigger screen for checklists, easier photo uploads, shared device mounted in processing area. For delivery drivers: Tablet with mobile data plan recommended so they can access orders and complete deliveries in real-time.

Q: I’m looking at a tablet for deliveries - will it need 5G if I take it on the road?

A: Yes. If you want to use the tablet for delivery workflows (checking orders, marking deliveries complete, accessing live temp data), it needs mobile data. A 4G or 5G-enabled tablet works. Alternatively, you can tether to your phone’s hotspot, but a tablet with built-in cellular is more reliable for drivers.

Q: Can my delivery driver use the tablet to check off deliveries in Cured Compliance?

A: Yes, with an internet connection. The delivery module lets drivers: view delivery addresses and orders, mark deliveries as complete with timestamp, take photo proof of delivery, capture customer digital signature on tablet. Requires mobile data or hotspot connection to access and update records in real-time.

Q: I keep getting an error setting up SMS alerts even though my phone number is saved. How do I fix this?

A: Common fix: Go to Settings → Alerts → SMS Notifications → Make sure phone number is in international format +61 (not 04). Example: +61427594365 not 0427594365. Hit “Test SMS” to verify. If still failing, contact support—we can enable it on our end within 5 minutes.

Q: I currently use Clever Logger (or other cloud temp system). Will it integrate with Cured Compliance?

A: Cured Compliance is a standalone system and replaces Clever Logger. We provide temperature monitoring plus compliance checklists, traceability, and audit reporting all integrated. Our BLE 5.0 sensors offer longer battery life (2+ years) and better freezer performance. When switching: install our sensors alongside your existing ones for 24 hours to compare data accuracy, then remove the old system once confident. Historical data can be preserved via PDF exports if needed for audit continuity.

Regulatory & Compliance Questions

Q: Are digital temperature logging systems accepted by Australian food inspectors?

A: Yes, provided they meet your Food Safety Program requirements under FSANZ Standard 3.2.2 (Food Safety Practices). Regulators across Australia—SafeFood QLD, NSW Food Authority, PrimeSafe VIC, and others—accept digital monitoring systems that comply with food standards. Cured Compliance is designed to meet these requirements with automated temperature logging, accurate timestamps, tamper-proof records, and audit-ready reporting. Many inspectors prefer digital systems because records can’t be backdated or altered.

Q: My NSW inspector was skeptical about cloud-based systems before. Will they accept Cured Compliance?

A: Regulators support digital platforms as long as they meet your Food Safety Program standards. Cured Compliance provides: continuous temperature logging (every 5-15 min), tamper-proof timestamps and records, instant PDF export for inspector review, and 5+ years of data retention (exceeds requirements). If your inspector prefers paper during the audit, simply print the PDF temperature logs—you get the best of both: digital alerts and monitoring, plus paper backup for audits. Many customers report inspectors preferring digital once they see the system. One NSW customer’s inspector said: “Best documentation system I’ve seen in 20 years.”

Q: Do you have customers in NSW doing smallgoods who could share their experience?

A: Yes. Butchers around Australia use Cured Compliance with customers in every state and territory—from metro areas to regional towns and rural communities. We have retail butchers, smallgoods makers, game processors, and farm to plate providers using the system from Cairns to Tasmania. Email info@curedcompliance.com with “Reference Customer Request” and we’ll connect you with a similar business in your state for a direct conversation about their experience.
